DJ Rockwell
Italian origins, raised in Perth, Western Australia, has been mixing it up since he was 12 years old back in 1989 where he started in a stage production for the Swy Theater Company as a sound engineer which was part of his High School drama class. This got him interested in mixing and he started making mix tapes for friends. He started DJing at the occasional party playing a mix of Pop, Hip Hop, House and Rave music of the day.
This hobby seemed to grow and eventually he landed his first gig by accident in 1994 playing on a Sunday session at The Boulevard where he was actually working as a stage hand. From there he went on to work in various other Clubs and Bars as a guest DJ in and around Perth and Northbridge and also did many small Raves. He landed his first permanent residency in 1997 at Excapade Nightclub and the rest is history.
Rockwell got into music production in 1999 and started to make different edits and remixes of songs, as well as his own. Rockwell’s music style is very broad, he is one of the few DJ’s to be able to play all types of music to pretty much any venue. His main passion is House Music, but this doesn’t stop him from playing and making most other styles.
